Founded by Vimla Parbhoo, an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, the firm draws on over 20 years of in-house legal, shareholder and board-level experience within multinational organisations and diverse jurisdictions.

Litigation Leadership and Independent Advisory

VAK Advisory focuses on being a robust litigation leader for local and international companies doing business in South Africa and across Africa.

This includes assessing litigation strategy critically, weighing legal and commercial risk, and reviewing and managing external legal costs incurred or to be incurred by local and international law firms.

We operate as an independent connector between companies, external law firms and internal teams, ensuring alignment, clarity and accountability — with a mandate that remains strictly aligned to our clients.

Board and Governance Role

In addition to litigation advisory work, Vimla Parbhoo offers expertise as an independent non-executive director to local and international companies operating in South Africa and across Africa.

This includes supporting shareholder, board and executive leadership with governance oversight, decision-making and strategic direction in complex environments.
